Courrèges signature vinyl is our most iconic material. When it debuted in the 1960’s it was a vision of a more democratic future. Today the world is drowning in plastic — and the future depends on its obsolescence. In 2018 we launched FIN du PLASTIQUE: a revival of the house’s commitment to the future through a pledge to discontinue the manufacture of petrol based plastic. We began to mark each vinyl product with a countdown to our last meter of stock. Today the question is: what happens after meter 0? Our partnership with Instituto-E is another step forward. Our approach is based on experimentation and the belief that sustainability is about creativity — not austerity; activation — not preservation; pleasure — not abstinence; today — not tomorrow. COURREGES x IE CAPSULE collection include T-shirts and sweatshirts in organic cotton carrying the Courrèges × Instituto-e logo, and small leather goods in pirarucu fish skin or in remaining meters of the House’s signature vinyl. Founded by @oskarmetsavaht, Instituto-e is a non-profit civil society organization whose mission is to transform Brazil into a model of sustainable human development.

Concordo!
